I remember when I first asked Alexa to tell me about their wedding a year and a half ago; she said they just had this vision of a classic, black tie wedding in downtown Raleigh. It was amazing to see her dream wedding come to life!

This day was a joy to photograph, from start to finish. We stepped off the elevator into the Glass Box to the most brightly-lit room, full of music and excitement and sent off the couple with the longest sparkler exit down Fayetteville Street. I know I always say that our weddings are so full of joy and emotion, but it’s always the truth! I was listening to a photography podcast today and they were discussing how wedding photography is such an experience like no other because we are invited into these really intimate moments between not only our couples, but their families as well. I think that’s a pretty big deal! We spend time getting to know our couples and then we get to be with them on the best day of their lives, hearing their friends and family’s toasts that celebrate who they are as people and who they are together as a unit, and honestly I tear up a lot of the time. Alexa’s dad got me a little teary during his toast because I could tell how much he loves his little girl and how proud he was to have Ryan become part of the family.
