Kathryn & Alex Engagement | Downtown Raleigh

Imagine exploring around downtown Raleigh, on a beautiful, sunny, 60 degree day in the middle of winter – hard to picture right?! Kathryn and Alex had just that for their engagement session. Right in the middle of a rainy morning and a rainy evening, we were blessed with a perfect afternoon for pictures.

I know I say this every time, but I LOVE ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS! They are so important for so many reasons, the most important being that we all get to know each other. When my couples are finished with their engagement sessions, they always tell me that they were so nervous beforehand and that I made them feel so comfortable in front of the camera (#humblebrag) and this sets the stage for their wedding day! I show up as a friend that they already know and trust that I will capture all of their important moments and take care of them all day long. Not only that, but they learn what it feels like to be in front of the camera and how to pose, so by the time their wedding comes along, they are basically professionals. You can also use this time for your bridal makeup trial with your makeup artist like Kathryn did! Plus it’s just fun to take romantic pictures without the stress of the wedding day jitters and timeline! AND you get a fun blog post like this! 😉 Win, win win, win!

I instantly knew that Kathryn and Alex were going to be naturals in front of the camera. It’s something about their chemistry, when they look at each other and share a secret smile, it felt like they forgot the camera was even on them! Plus, let’s all take a moment to appreciate their impeccable sense of style.

We are so excited to photograph their wedding in May at SoCo Farm and Food – such an amazing venue with amazing owners (and food)!
